Contractor FAQ
How many contractors do you accept per service area?
We maintain strict capacity limits to ensure every partner contractor receives sufficient lead volume. Typically, we accept 2-4 contractors per major service category (water damage, fire restoration, mold remediation, etc.) in each metropolitan market. Once a service area reaches capacity, we place new applications on a waitlist until an opening becomes available. This exclusivity model protects your investment in our partnership and ensures consistent referral flow.
What is the typical referral fee structure?
RapidShield charges a percentage-based referral fee on completed restoration jobs. The exact percentage varies based on service type, market, and volume commitments, but typically ranges from 10-20% of the total job value. There are no monthly fees, membership costs, or charges for leads that don't convert to completed work. You only pay when you're paid. This performance-based model aligns our success directly with yours.
How quickly do I need to respond to referrals?
Rapid response is critical in the restoration industry. We expect partner contractors to contact homeowners within 30 minutes of receiving a referral and arrive on-site within 60-90 minutes for emergency calls in their primary service area. Response time directly affects conversion rates, homeowner satisfaction, and your standing in our network. Contractors who consistently provide fast response receive priority placement and higher referral volume.
What markets are you currently accepting contractors in?
RapidShield currently operates in 25+ markets nationwide, with strong presence in Colorado (Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Denver metro), Texas (Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi, Amarillo), Louisiana (Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Shreveport), Oklahoma (Oklahoma City, Tulsa), Missouri (Kansas City, Springfield, Joplin), Mississippi (Jackson, Biloxi, Hattiesburg), Alabama (Montgomery, Huntsville, Mobile, Birmingham), Georgia (Macon, Columbus, Augusta), and Tennessee (Knoxville, Chattanooga). We're actively expanding to new markets quarterly. Check our application form or contact our contractor relations team for current availability in your service area.
Do you verify my credentials with state agencies?
Yes. Our vetting process includes direct verification with state contractor licensing boards, insurance carrier confirmation of liability and workers' compensation coverage, IICRC certification validation, and reference checks with past clients. We conduct thorough background checks and review any disciplinary actions or complaints on file with regulatory agencies. This rigorous vetting protects homeowners, maintains the quality of our network, and ensures all partner contractors meet our high standards.
Can I opt out of certain types of jobs or service areas?
Yes. During onboarding, you specify your service specialties (water damage, fire restoration, mold remediation, storm damage, sewage cleanup, etc.) and your exact service territory. We only send referrals that match your capabilities and coverage area. You can update your preferences at any time by contacting your dedicated contractor relations manager. We want to send you jobs you can win and complete successfully, so clear communication about your service scope is essential.
